Boat Specifics & Operation

What is the Bay Area Hot Tub Boat?

Experience the fun by getting in the water, on the water with us on the San Francisco Bay Area’s first Hot Tub Boat! Soak in the hot tub as you slowly cruise the San Francisco Bay in the calm waters of the Alameda/Oakland estuary in this eco-friendly electric hot tub boat.

Who operates the hot tub boat?

You do! Our hot tub boats are rental boats driven by the customer so you can be the captain.

Is it easy to operate the hot tub boat?

Anyone aboard can steer with an easy-to-use prop tiller. We will provide a brief tutorial on how to safely navigate the boats before you depart, but it’s really easy and fun!

What is the temperature of the water in the hot tub boat?

Our hot tub boats are all about providing a luxurious, cozy, and comfortable experience on the water. To ensure this, we maintain our hot tub water temperature at a pleasant 102 degrees Fahrenheit (or about 39 degrees Celsius), which is a typical setting for hot tubs. This temperature is carefully chosen to provide a warm and soothing experience, while also considering safety and comfort levels. Please remember to stay hydrated during your journey and feel free to ask our staff if you have any questions or concerns about the water temperature.

Small glass bottles are not permitted at all, so please plan for cans and plastic. Remember, the same rules apply on the water as on the road – the boat operator must remain sober at all times and this is strictly enforced by our staff and we have a zero tolerance for this. Boating Under the Influence (BUI) may result in violations that may result in arrest.

What happens if I return to the dock late?

We understand that time can fly when you’re enjoying the bay and our hot tub boats. However, we have strict return times to ensure that all of our guests can enjoy their full allotted time on the water. If a boat is returned late, a fee of $50 will be applied for every 10 minutes that you go beyond your return time to cover the inconvenience caused to the next renters. We kindly ask all our guests to respect their return times and help us make the experience enjoyable for everyone. Please make sure to plan your voyage accordingly.

Can children come?

Of course! We allow children 12 years and older accompanied by parental guardians.

Safety Measures

What are the safety measures in place?

Your safety is our utmost priority at Bay Area Hot Tub Boat. Each boat is equipped with life jackets and safety equipment. Prior to departure, our experienced staff will provide a safety and operations briefing. We also maintain regular contact with all boats while they are on the water.

Do hot tub boat rentals operate in all weather conditions?

Yes, Bay Area Hot Tub Boats operate rain or shine, all year round. The boats are designed to provide a warm and comforting experience, regardless of the weather. However, safety is always the top priority, and operations may be halted if weather conditions pose a risk.

How many people can I bring on the hot tub boat?

We allow up to 6 passengers at maximum capacity, not to exceed 820-lbs for safety reasons. No person may join a Hot Tub Boat rental if they did not check-in and leave from our facility.

Is the water in the hot tub boat clean?

Absolutely! Having clean water is critical to our operation. Our boats are equipped with a chlorinator and by adding light salt to the water, it creates an electrolysis process that brings the water to the highest level of hygiene compliance. We also use a filtration system that heats and cleans the water as it circulates in the tub while the boat is dockside. This is an all-natural cleaning process similar to salt water pools (no chemicals).

Are there life preservers provided on the hot tub boat?

Yes, each hot tub boat is equipped with a life preserver for each guest.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

Your safety is our utmost priority. In the event of any unforeseen mechanical boat issues, we will use our company safety boat to come assist you on the water. You will also find our company phone number and first aid kit on board. Please remain calm and wait for assistance to arrive, and if a true emergency arises please immediately dial 911.
